Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve

Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve is an area of over 1000 acres extending along the Lincolnshire coast, from the southern end of Skegness to the entrance of the Wash. It is comprised of sandy and muddy seashores, sand-dunes, saltmarshes and freshwater habitats.

The reserve is recognised both nationally and internationally as an area of outstanding wildlife and geomorphological importance. It has been designated a NNR, SSSI, RAMSAR and a SPA site.

Built around the old Coastguard House and set within more than 1000 acres of unspoilt coastline, the Wash Study Centre is the perfect base for education, with facilities for residential and day visits.

Taking your students on a field trip should be fun for you as well as them, and so we want to make the planning as easy as possible for you. Educational opportunities Activities have been, and will continue to be, updated to meet the latest QCA schemes of work and examination board specifications. The courses that we offer are outlined and once you have chosen what you require from our recommendations, our team will contact you to discuss your programme and tailor it to your needs. You will receive a suggested itinerary and worksheets for each activity. At any stage of the planning we would like to encourage you to visit us or make any suggestions to the programme. We will also send you details of our health and safety policy, should you require them, for presenting to your governors and parents, and any relevant risk assessments for the activities you have chosen.
